The Stars Align for an Unforgettable Science Night

Andrea Thomas —

Our Year 3 and 4 whanau were treated to an extraordinary journey through the cosmos last night, thanks to an incredible Science evening that left students and parents alike gazing at the sky in wonder.

What a stellar night for our Astronomical Evening last night! The night sky couldn't have been better, clear, beautiful, and full of wonder. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable evening under the stars.

The evening featured a presentation from the Astronomical Society, who took our students on a guided tour of the universe. From the swirling storms of distant planets to the birth of faraway stars, the speakers brought the mysteries of space right into our classroom.

But the real magic happened when everyone headed outside. Armed with high-powered binoculars and two incredibly impressive, professional-grade telescopes, students got a front-row seat to the universe.

This evening would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of our phenomenal Science Leader, Vicki Moffat. Vicki is a true champion of science in our school. Whether she is organising awe-inspiring stargazing nights, setting up high-stakes snail races or launching flight competitions to bring physics to life, Vicki consistently goes above and beyond to make learning interactive, memorable, and flat-out fun.

Thank you, Vicki, for your endless energy, your creativity and for always encouraging our students to reach for the stars! We are already looking forward to the next great scientific adventure.
