Next week is Book Week and Book Character Dress Up Day on Friday 31st July

Andrea Thomas —

Are you ready for Book Week? Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July.

It is going to be a jam-packed week celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and creativity!

This year, we are placing a special focus on helping our students see themselves not just as readers, but as writers. Connecting with stories helps children find their own voices and realise that their own ideas and experiences are worth writing down.

To bring the magic of books to life, we have a fantastic lineup of events throughout the week:

  • Two Author Visits: We are incredibly excited to welcome two published authors to our school! They will be sharing their insider secrets, inspiring our students and showing them what it takes to turn a passion for writing into a real book.

  • Lunchtime Storytime: The library will be the place to be at lunchtime! Grab a spot and get cozy as we share some incredible tales.

  • The Book Fair: Looking to refresh your bookshelves at home? The library will be hosting a Book Fair all week long, featuring a huge selection of beautiful books to buy. From captivating picture books to thrilling chapter books, there truly is something for everyone.

Friday 31st July - Book Character Dress Up Day

Start brainstorming those outfits! On Friday, the final day of Book Week, we invite all students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Whether they want to be a classic hero, a modern comic book star or a character from a story they love, we can't wait to see their creativity on display.
