Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Showcase
The Year 4-6 Kapa Haka Rōpū performed at the Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Festival last Monday.
It was an absolutely wonderful event and each rōpū was outstanding. The day was full of culture and connection. It was inspiring to see the pride and mana of every rōpū on stage and the unity across our schools.
Our students were able to see a wide range of groups perform - from surrounding primary schools to Green Bay High and Oaklynn Special School. We were hosted by Glen Eden Intermediate and - a special shout out to them for their wonderful hosting and organisation.
It was a huge amount of work to put together - from all of the tutors, kaiako, and leaders who worked tirelessly to prepare and support their groups.
A special thank you to Erin from Kaurilands School and all of the CoL team — Nathan, Jo, Lorraine, and Jess.
A special mention to the amazing student leaders from Green Bay High School and Glen Eden Intermediate. They were committed to their role, organised and supported schools to be where they needed to be on time.
This was such an amazing community celebration and a wonderful way to end the year - our cluster will still be working together in the future so that events like these can continue to provide moments for tamariki to shine.
Lastly, we send lots of love to Whaea Michelle for her passion and commitment to leading Kapa Haka at TPS. Michelle will be moving to St Leonard's Road School in 2026 to teach in a bilingual class - Te Whānau o Hato Renata. We will miss her but know that she will be forever be part of the TPS whānau.
