Tumuaki / Principal Message
Kia ora whānau...just a quick update from me about whānaungatanga - connection and belonging - these are some of the ways you can get involved and collaborate with the school this year.
First off, a HUGE thank you to everyone who's stepped up to be class parents this year. You guys are absolute stars and we really appreciate you helping to build those strong connections in our school community. Our class parents are a key point of connect between the kura and whānau - they will send messages when important events are happening and will sometimes send a call for help - we always need support when manning the BBQ or decorating spaces for Quiz Night and Disco.
For those of you with green thumbs (or even just a passing interest!), Dana in Room 18 is busy getting a regular gardening group up and running - she is always keen for new faces. We're working on making our school grounds even more beautiful and productive and it's a great way to meet other parents and get your hands dirty. Email danat@titirangi.school.nz for more info - this could even be something a grandparent could get involved in.
Looking ahead, we've got our school board elections coming up later this year. Keep an eye out for information coming from the board itself closer to the time. They'll be giving you all the details and opportunities to hear more about what's involved. It's a really important way to have a say in our school's vision and strategic direction. If you have knowledge or skills in project management, cultural competence, human resources, law etc - this could be a way to get involved - but it does best suit people with some time to give to the school - there is a commitment involved but if you think that could be you - make sure you look out for updates.
And speaking of direction, we're starting to think about our new strategic plan for 2026-2028. We really want to hear what you, our whānau, think and value. We'll be running parent hui and online surveys, so there'll be plenty of chances to share your thoughts. Your input is super important to us.
Thanks for being such an awesome part of our school community!
