On Tuesday the 21st of March, Mrs Potts took Clay, Will, Corben and myself to a soccer tournament at Cherry Grove Reserve. 

I was in the River Schools Team, which is a team from Tokirima, Ohura and Ongarue.

There was a year 1-2 division, a year 3-4 division ( there was no River Schools team in that division ) a year 5-6 division and finally a year 7-8 division. I was in the year 7-8 division with Clay.

It was a great day for soccer, sunny and not a cloud in sight.

Each team played two games and if you won both games you went to the division final. We won both of our games and went to the final. We were playing Taumarunui Primary and even though nerves were high we won 2-0.

The best thing about our team was our defence because in the whole tournament our team conceded only on one point.

It was quite a successful time for two of the River School teams. ‘Too Fab’ won their final, ‘Too Fast’ didn't win a match and ‘Too Furious’ ( the team I was in ) also won the final.

It was a great day overall, and to finish the day we had a delicious meal at the ‘Bakehouse’ (thank you Mrs Potts).
