"E ngaki ana e mua, e tōtō mai ana a muri" First clear the weeds, then plant.
Our School was a winner for the Garden to Table School Seedling Offer from Zealandia Horticulture Ltd. Zealandia couriered us an assortment of vegetable seedlings to support the great work that we do teaching the next generation how to grow, harvest and share wonderful, fresh seasonal food.
This past week the students were busy planting all the young plants into our garden. We are very grateful for the koha of vegetable plants. Planted in our gardens were Broccoli, Spring Onion, Brussel Sprouts just to name a few. This week the students cooked up a delicious healthy vegetable soup - with some flat bread and rhubarb muffins to top it off. Veges and rhubarb all harvested from our garden. Whaea Kim would be very grateful for some help in the garden to help oversee the students while they go about their gardening chores. Please, if you have an hour available from 11am - 12.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, please come and see the classroom teacher - or pop along. Many hands make light work!
