Recently 20 of our keenest Years 7&8 runners took part in the Otago Cross Country Championships.

The standard at this event was very high and the fitness and running strategy of every athlete was tested to the maximum.

Within these very tough fields though, our runners achieved some excellent results. Of note was Lulu Mahoney (15th place Year 7 Girls), Jimmy MacKenzie (8th place Year 7 Boys) and Eli Bungard (13th place Year 8 Boys).

The support of each other in the group was terrific and the satisfaction of every runner at the completion of their race was evident to see. Congratulations and very well done to all of you.
