School Sport remains as important today as it has in the past.

It provides tens of thousands of students each year with the opportunity to strive for their goals, create new and lasting friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

However, we know we face challenges to keep Rangatahi engaged in sport and we must listen and take action if we are to ensure that the next generation has access to these same benefits and opportunities that sport can bring.

School Sport NZ is proud and excited to confirm that it has been selected by Sport NZ as a partner organisation in its Strengthen and Adapt programme. The programme is in its fourth and final wave and will support School Sport NZ to investigate how it can scope, prioritise, and resource initiatives that will have the greatest impact for the school sport sector, and strengthen the organisation to achieve its outcomes.

To do this it is imperative that we engage with the sector, and none more so important than the Rangatahi at the centre of our purpose.
