Principal's Message
Working Bee
Greetings, Kia ora, Talofa, Mālō e lelei
It has been a busy term for our sports teams and today the Dunedin Co-Ed Secondary Schools Sports Tournament is being held. Five schools are involved and at the time of writing the tournament has just begun. I am heading out the door to make a tour of the games and look forward to seeing our students in action.
Working Bee
The PFA and Board of Trustees are holding a community Working Bee on Sunday 28th July from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at Kavanagh College. Please see the full detail in this week’s newsletter. They are looking for volunteers to help with the following activities: General tidying of grounds – weeding, cobweb removal, cleaning windows, water blasting some outside areas, removing stickers from locker doors, replenishing woodchips on some gardens.
A reminder that our Open Day is coming up on Sunday 4th August from 2:00pm-4:00pm. This day is to welcome incoming and prospective students and parents to Kavanagh College, provide information about the school and begin our enrolment process. Most current students will be at school helping out on the day so please keep it free.
Also, a reminder to parents of students in Year 11 – 13 that Parent Teacher Interviews are being held in the first week of term on Thursday 25th July. As we have just passed the half way mark of the academic school year it is important you take the opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers to get an update on progress. Please book online (the instructions are in this newsletter) and bring your child with you to the interviews with the teachers. This helps to avoid any misunderstandings and ensures your child is part of the learning conversation.
God Bless
