Principal's Message

Tracy O'Brien —

Tena Koutou Katoa

The season of Advent is almost upon us again. Whether it be through the promise of summer, Christmas lights and decorations, or the sounds of carols, we are reminded of God's loving gift to us: Jesus.  We also look forward to opportunities to share the love he instilled in us through that gift.

With only one more week left for our students, life at school has been very busy.

Our Years 7 & 8 Sports Awards were held yesterday. Congratulations to Patrick Craft who was named Junior Sportsperson of the Year.

Our Year 8 and 10 students have now completed their successful camps and Year 7 have made their annual visit to Āraiteuru marae. These activities are very important formative and developmental events for young people and should also engender some new learning, fun and memories for a lifetime. Summer sports week and the Year 9 Sports Day have also been held. Last Friday was New Entrants Day. This day is always exciting for all involved as we look to welcome and orient a new cohort.

These events would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of staff and parents. My thanks go out to each and every one of you.

As Christmas gets nearer let us remember those who have suffered hardship recently. Let us continue to pray for them and to actively reach out and support those we know are facing difficulties.
