International Department Team 2021

We have had some changes in staffing for 2021, with a new Homestay Coordinator joining the team and a new role for our long term Head of ESOL. We look forward to supporting our International students, families and agents together.

To introduce the Team:

International Director (Acting) and Lead Teacher of ESOL:

Nicki Ridden-Angus (B.Sc, Grad.Dip, Dip.Grad.Tchg)

Nicki has been the Head of ESOL at Kavanagh College since 2011 and loves teaching students from all over the world. Prior to working at Kavanagh, she lived in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she spent four years teaching ESOL to adults in companies and in programs for the German government. She enjoys travelling and how her students bring their many languages and cultures to her classroom. From 2020, she has been building new relationships with families and agents and has been managing international student enrolments, as well as pastoral care.

Homestay Coordinator:
Brenda Clark (B.Ed & Dip.Tchg)

Brenda joined Kavanagh at the end of 2020 as an experienced International Homestay Coordinator, also working since 2016 in the same role for another local high school. Brenda loves supporting and encouraging international students to achieve and enjoy their time in New Zealand. As a qualified and registered teacher, Brenda spent most of her teaching career in the United Kingdom, teaching students aged 11-17. From 2021, Brenda is looking forward to developing new relationships with the students and homestay families of Kavanagh College.
