We are extremely fortunate to welcome a number of new staff to Trinity this term, and over the coming weeks we will introduce these new staff members in the weekly newsletter. Today we profile Savannah de Vos and Katie Montgomery.
Savannah de Vos
My name is Savannah de Vos, and I’m thrilled to be joining Trinity Catholic College as Head of Social Sciences. I’ll be teaching History, Psychology, English, and Social Inquiry. I grew up in Taipa, Northland and studied at the University of Otago, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts (double major in History and English) and a Master of Teaching and Learning. I began my teaching career at Howick College in Auckland before moving south to Columba College. Outside the classroom, I love the outdoors, wildlife, and reading. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and becoming part of the school community.
Katie Montgomery
Kia ora koutou,
I’m excited to join the team at Trinity Catholic College as a Year 9 Ako teacher. I’ve been teaching in Dunedin for the past 20 years, mostly in our Catholic primary schools, and more recently at the tertiary level. I bring a wealth of experience across different year levels and a passion for fostering a love of learning in my students. It’s been fantastic reconnecting with familiar faces, especially those who are former students! I’ve been warmly welcomed by both staff and students. Outside of school, I’m a busy mum to three girls (ages 5-11). I love making the most of Dunedin’s great outdoors with family and friends, whether it’s running, walking, or, more recently, kayaking. I’m looking forward to a great year ahead!
