Year 10 Economics
Students have been exploring the fundamental economic principle of scarcity, the idea that resources are limited and that choices must be made about how to use them.
As part of this challenge, students designed, created and tested a vessel made entirely of newspaper to carry water. Their limited resources included only newspaper and glue, requiring them to think strategically about construction and durability.
The true test came when the students filled the vessels with water. Some held strong, while others quickly revealed the effects of poor resource allocation. Regardless of the outcome, students gained valuable insights into problem-solving, teamwork, and the practical application of scarcity in everyday life.
