Shrove Tuesday Celebrations

Tamzin ClarkeMarch 4, 2025

On Tuesday morning, our lovely Year 13s were down in the Mercy Block bright and early to hand out pancakes to students to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Shrove Tuesday is the day before the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter. Pancakes on this day are a tradition as they were made to use up all the ingredients in the house that people would give up for Lent so that they would be ready to fast.

Our Prefect team, as well as some other keen Year 13 helpers and Moananu Tili, did a fantastic job serving pancakes to our junior students, who were very happy to have a nice breakfast before starting the day.

The air was buzzing with excitement and echoed with laughter, while beaming smiles could be seen in every corner of the courtyard! Thank you to everyone who came down for a pancake and thank you to our Year 13s who organised this perfect Shrove Tuesday celebration.
