Introducing New Staff at Trinity Catholic College

AdministrationFebruary 13, 2025

We are extremely fortunate to welcome a number of new staff to Trinity this term. This week we profile Jessica Lach and Duncan Robertson.

Jess Lach

I am very excited to be joining the Trinity Catholic College community and have really enjoyed getting to know all the new staff and students here. I am currently teaching Science, Biology and Geography and am also the Year 10 Dean. I have 16 years of teaching experience and have also taught Social Studies and Health at previous schools. I have a passion for researching topics around mental health and wellbeing and how this impacts the way that our brains function, and I like to bring this knowledge into the classroom to support student learning.

In my spare time, I love trail running, beekeeping, birdwatching, gaming, gardening and of course spending as much time as possible with family. I came to Aotearoa around 20 years ago from the United States to conduct some research for university study and have never left! I feel very lucky to call Ōtepoti my home now. I look forward to learning more about my students and supporting them in reaching their personal goals and potential.

Duncan Robertson

Kia ora Trinity Catholic College whanau,

My name is Duncan Robertson and I am so proud to be a new addition to the Trinity Catholic College community. My current teaching roles are year 9 integrated studies and Junior Science. I’ve spent the majority of my working life as a dairy farmer in various roles ranging from dairy assistant to farm manager. Last year I decided it was time for a change in career and completed my Master of Teaching and Learning at the University of Otago.

My first few weeks at Trinity have been fantastic and I’ve been made to feel extremely welcome by both staff and students alike. Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with my young family, reading and playing a bit of basketball and golf. I’m looking forward to a great year and getting to know you all.
