Phone and Internet Use

We expect that all Trinity Catholic College international students have easy access to the internet, for both school and personal reasons. You will be expected to have a phone and devices that are internet capable for both.

You must have a New Zealand SIM card in your phone at all times and the Homestay Coordinator, International Director and your host parents must have your correct number. If you change providers and so phone number, we need to be kept up to date too.

Mobile phone charges (either prepay or on contract) are your own responsibility. You may use your host family's land line (if they still have one) for local calls only - as you would expect, using WhatsApp, Messenger, Line and Zoom etc are cheaper and easier for everyone.

Any landline calls that incur charges, so that's any international calls or to cellphone numbers, will be invoiced to your parents.

You will have unlimited internet, however in some cases this will be turned off at 10pm to ensure that students are not online instead of sleeping.
