Today, students in the Commerce Department took part in CensusAtSchool, a nationwide survey designed to gather and explore real-world data about young people. This interactive and engaging survey is conducted not only in New Zealand but also in other countries worldwide.
CensusAtSchool is completely anonymous, allowing students to contribute their responses with confidence. Once the data is collected and analyzed, participating schools receive the results, providing valuable insights into trends among young people. Students answered a range of fun and thought-provoking questions, including their standing jump distance, school bag weight, pet ownership, favourite colour, favourite sport, and future job aspirations etc.
By taking part in this initiative, the students had the opportunity to engage with real data in a meaningful way, making learning both fun and relevant to the world around them.
