TUMUAKI PĀNUI

Matt Tilley —

Today we welcomed five Tumuaki (Principal) from Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) into our Kura. They were blown away by our engaged tamariki and the wonderful learning programs going on in classes. We had five of our leaders take them around on a tour answering their questions. We love showing manuhiri (visitors) our Kura manaakitanga (hospitality).

Like all organisations this winter, illness has applied pressure on staffing so we are very proud that we have been able to provide quality learning opportunities for our students with zero disruptions for whānau. Our kaiako (teachers) have stepped in and stepped up at every opportunity to ensure we are open for instruction.

To say there has been lots of sickness rolling around the country is an understatement so we are absolutely thrilled to see our school attendance up to our expected levels at this time of year.

Kura have been starved of community events over the last few years due to COVID. In the pānui (newsletter), you will see an advertisement about a school quiz. Please buy your tables as soon as possible so we can confirm the evening. This is a chance to get whānau in and have a good time connecting with our awesome Kura. The quiz will have a Te Reo Māori spin on it as it is the Thursday that builds into Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Thank you all for your ongoing support, let’s hope we see some sunshine soon!
