TUMUAKI PĀNUI

Matt Tilley —

Mālō e lelei ki he kakai fakamaauʻanga ʻi he falekoloa - Hello to all our families! It is Tongan language week and we love celebrating language weeks at Tītahi Bay School.

Next week marks Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), and as part of our celebration, we aim to ensure that whānau are aware of the significant presence of Te Reo within our kura. We hope that you can glean valuable insights from your tamariki and learn something new too. Teaching Te Reo Māori to our children not only fosters cultural understanding but also safeguards our unique heritage while nurturing a more inclusive and diverse society that honours our indigenous roots. I love how this week is a national celebration.

Looking ahead to Week 10 of this term, we are excited to host Redwood School for our inaugural sporting exchange, which we hope will become a cherished tradition.  You are warmly invited to join us and show your support for our athletes, ranging from year 3 to 6, as they compete in various sports.

We look forward to everyone returning on Monday with spirits lifted by the joy of an All Blacks and Warriors victory and the celebration of Te Reo Māori. Up the Wahs!
