Kia ora ngā whānau o te kura o Tītahi Bay

I have absolutely loved my first 10 days as Tumuaki of our wonderful Kura. It has been awesome to meet so many whānau at the school gate and we have thoroughly enjoyed being able to welcome you all back into the school grounds.

It has been a pleasure wandering the playground during break times and seeing all the Kura kids living our KURA VALUES during the stunning autumn weather. I have had the chance to take a couple of classes already in an effort to get to know all of our tamariki. I know our Kura well as a parent so it has been especially cool seeing how our incredible staff interact with your children, making learning fun and safe for everyone.

While I acknowledge that we are still experiencing Covid related challenges and we are obviously not out of this pandemic yet, it is nice to have attendance rates back above 85% and school life feeling normal again. It is also exciting to see events and experiences for our tamariki being planned rather than cancelled.

In this pānui, you will read that we are calling out to whānau for support in key areas of primary school life. We need some more road patrol parents as well as fresh volunteers to set up a new era for our home and school committee. We hope to have some community and fundraising based events back up and running.

Ngā mihi nui
