TUMUAKI PĀNUI

Matt Tilley —

Kia ora ngā whānau o te kura o Tītahi Bay

I trust you all enjoyed your long weekend. Coming up on June 24 is a very special and unique holiday to New Zealanders. Celebrating Matariki as a holiday is long overdue but better late than never! We look forward to hosting you here for breakfast on Wednesday June 22.

This week is Support Staff Week which is a time for us to stop and recognise the amazing people we have here at Tītahi Bay School outside of our teaching staff. We want to show our huge gratitude to Jodene and Lisa in the office, Steve and Jim who look after our grounds, Sandy our cleaner and Rachel, Shelly, Leah, Sally and Christine who work as teacher aides throughout our Kura. Without these amazing kaimahi, the smooth running of a school is impossible. They all take huge pride in their mahi and give their heart and soul to our Kura. Thank you all immensely!

I am thrilled to see Te Rauparaha Arena sport back in our community and so excited to see six Basketball and two Floorball teams from our Kura that have entered. The competition starts in two weeks.

Our Kura kids are beautifully settled into Term 2 and they are enjoying all the vibrant learning that is going on in our classes. Our KURA value this term is respect and it is so awesome to see our tamariki displaying this in the playground and earning their KURA coupons.

As the weather has changed and we see more wet days, it would be great if your tamariki could bring a spare change of clothing in their bag. Often we do not have the right sized clothing for children and need to call home to bring more in.

Ngā mihi nui and thank you for your ongoing support.
