We’re excited to present our fabulous Whānau Fun September/October School Holiday Programme. Please find attached a poster to spread Porirua-wide, and a timetable to mark your movements with. You’ll find something for everyone in the whānau to enjoy – from story times and character celebrations (including Hairy Maclary’s 40th birthday on October 5 at 2PM!), to Digital Discovery adventures, and a special poetry event (with Grandma’s home baking!) on Grandparents Day (October 1 at 1PM with Landing Press and local writer Adrienne Jansen). Our special guest will be Michaela Keeble, who opens and closes our programme (September 26 at 10.30AM and October 6 at 2PM), to introduce her gorgeous new book Paku Manu Ariki Whakatakapōkai. We’re honoured to have permission to feature this book’s vibrant artwork, by Tokerau Brown, in our promotional materials (ngā mihi nui, Gecko Press!).

Gecko will be joining us to sell signed copies of Paku Manu Ariki Whakatakapōkai on October 6 at 2PM, and you’ll want to purchase a copy for every tricky kid you know.
