Kerry Delaney —

I thought I would start this newsletter with some fun news. Jim and I rode the Otago Rail Trail and the Dunstan last month and it was fantastic.  Many of our KURA kids could do this trail and they would love it.  This photo is coming through one of the many tunnels.  Put this on your bucket list as it is a great place to visit in NZ with lots of history.

I want to thank our staff which have picked up the load as teachers have had to work from home.   Once again KURA staff are amazing.

It is week 7, 4 weeks until Easter.   In these funny days for the start of 2022, with many whānau at home isolating and lots of our tamariki on home learning we are still functioning as a school.   Last week we had up to 11 staff away and this week we have 5 staff away.   We will continue to work in HUBs at school so if staff have to self isolate we can still manage to teach.  It really helps if you tell us if your tamariki are away and also for how many days they will be away.   As you can imagine some days it takes Lisa a few hours to contact all the whānau of tamariki who are absent.   You can do this by texting our school phone 0277570272, email office@titahibay.school.nz, leave a message on the absent line 236-8399 or use the school app which you can download from the app store by searching 'SchoolappsNZ' and type in Titahi Bay School.

Remember school finishes on Wednesday 13th April at 3.00pm as the Thursday is a Teacher Only day, our staff will be working on the digital curriculum on this day.
