TUMUAKI PĀNUI
Kia ora koutou ngā whānau o te kura o Tītahi Bay,
A huge welcome back to kura after the mid-year holidays and it has been amazing to see our tamariki so keen and fizzing for another exciting term of learning. To all of our new kura kids and whānau - nau mai, haere mai.
Term 3 sees our KURA focus zoom in on ACHIEVEMENT! Our prize coupons will be awarded to our tamariki that are going above and beyond in doing their absolute best in the classroom, cultural experiences, sports fields or playground. It is important to understand that our focus on achievement is very much from a holistic lens. When tamariki are doing their best or trying something new, that is very much aligned with our KURA values.
I want to throw a huge shout to one of our parents, Jerome Leota. He has been taking Pasifika sessions for our kura kids for over a term now. We are so lucky to have him offering up his expertise!
We really hope you have cleared your calendar for the night of the school dance show in week 8 of this Term. Classes are currently learning their class dances choreographed by our very own Miss Sushames so the excitement is building.
Please note that we initially had a teacher only day set for November 13 in Term 4. Due to circumstances out of our control, the date has changed to November 17.
It has been wonderful to see our nation so excited about the Football Ferns. The hype will be real amongst our senior students over the next few weeks as we have our own FIFA World Cup during lunchtimes. Every child is in a team allocated to a country as some of our sports leaders officiate the tournament to find our own Kura Street World Cup Champions.
Thanks for your ongoing support of our kura.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - have a great weekend,
