Tangi ke rava!

I have two children currently attending Titahi Bay School and I’m keen to give back to our Kura and this is one way I can contribute.  I am passionate about our tamariki getting the best possible opportunities and that they are at the heart of decision making!  I would bring to the board previous experience on other Board and Governance roles that I have been involved with over the years, being both in roles supporting and as a member.

Mauri ora!
Jodi

Tēnā koutou. No Kotirana ratou ko Ingarani ko Airani tōku tīpuna. Ko Joanne Dow tōku ingoa. I have been privileged to live in Titahi Bay for the last eight years since our son was born. We love it! My extended family has been based here for over twenty years. My son has been at the school since starting and my daughter will be starting later this term.

I have had a 15 year career working in government policy and engagement and have previous experience advising and working alongside boards professionally, including the Pacific Cooperation Foundation and the board of my current employer, Scion. I have also been involved in steering committees in a voluntary capacity, including Playcentre, the Women’s Refuge and environmental groups.

The primary school years are so important for getting a great start in education, and also for building long-term life skills, as well as self-esteem and societal and cultural awareness. I’ve been pleased at what I’ve seen so far at Titahi Bay School in these respects. It would be a privilege to contribute and to work with school leadership as a Trustee to develop Titahi Bay School even further, for the benefit of our tamariki and our community.
