Tītahi Bay School —

He aha te mea nui o te ao?
What is the most important thing in the world?

He tāngata, He tāngata, He tāngata
It is people, It is people, It is people

Life at school is good and where possible we are trying to keep teaching and learning at the fore front of our minds.

Our junior classes are fully immersed in the structured literacy approach which you will have heard about.   Exciting times and I thank Miranda, Tanya and Fiona for their work in this area.

I want to thank Rachel Liddle for being for being part of our KURA staff.  Rachel has finished her time at our school and we all wish her the best.

In Room 18 on a Thursday will be a teaching friend from a few years ago Cheryl Naylor.   Cheryl started her career at Tītahi Bay School and was with us for a few years before shifting to Hamilton.  We are delighted she is back at school again.

We also have a new reliever Toby Gibb working in our school.   He has moved to the Bay and settled into our school with ease.

Ebony Sushames goes on maternity leave Week 3 of Term 2.   We have employed Leah Merewater to take her fixed term maternity position.   Ebony and Leah will work the first week of Term 2 together in Room 10 to help our KURA kids with the transition.   We welcome Leah to our staff and know she will be an asset to our school.

The Dental HUB at the front of school is closed for possibly 6 months or longer.  Over the Christmas holidays they had a major leak which has made the clinic unworkable.   Our KURA kids will have time on the Dental Bus and we will let you know when it is at school.  If you need to seek advice you can ring Bee Healthy on 0800 825 583.

I am linking the online newsletter I sent last week just to remind you how we will work if and when we get a positive case at school.  https://sites.google.com/titahibay.school.nz/homelearning/home

I am away from Thursday this week so if you need anything Jamie Merrick is the person to contact jamie.merrick@titahibay.school.nz.   Jamie will keep you posted if anything changes at school.
