REDWOOD SPORTS EXCHANGE
On Monday of this week, we enthusiastically welcomed 135 students from Redwood School to join us for our inaugural sports exchange. These pumped up students engaged in a total of 24 different sporting fixtures spanning from year 3 to 6. While the day was primarily focused on fostering connections and seizing opportunities through sports, it was certainly the cherry on top to secure the lion's share of victories.
The day commenced with our senior school extending a warm welcome to our visitors, marked by a heartfelt waiata during our mihi whakatau, to which Redwood reciprocated with heart.
We extend our gratitude to Miss Kelleher for her dedicated efforts in orchestrating such a smoothly run and memorable event. Our tamariki (children) displayed exceptional sportsmanship both on and off the fields and courts. The manaakitanga (hospitality) we extended to our visitors was repeatedly lauded by our manuhiri (visitors), which serves as the highest praise for us.
A big shout-out goes to all the referees generously provided by both Tawa Intermediate and Mana College, as well as to all the whānau members who joined us to support our athletes in truly impressive fashion.
A unique day that has our tamariki already looking forward to next year where we will return the favour and travel to Redwood.
