TUMUAKI PĀNUI

Matt Tilley —

Talofa atu i le tama'ita'i ma le tama'ita'i uma o le aiga o le a'oga.  Hello to all of our kura community.

This week Samoan Language Week has been a central focus at our kura. We had tamaitiiti (students) and faiaoga (teachers) attend the flag raising ceremony in our city’s square. The theme of the week is ‘be proud of your language and grounded in your identity’ and this is something that will resonate with all of us.

Thank you to everyone who brought in food for our emergency bins this morning. Having these stocked is a key part of our safety plan and we appreciate the support.

As always, lots of exciting learning both in and out of the classroom has been happening in our kura over the last couple of weeks and our tamaitiiti have been fizzing with all the opportunities. I hope you have already booked your interview time with your teacher to celebrate your child’s successes in 2023.

Please remember that the main form of communication from your child’s teacher to you is via Seesaw. It is important to be logged in and checking any updates. This is your way of being informed of all the exciting learning taking place. Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari kē he toa takitini - it is the support of many that contributes to the success of a child. Having our whānau engaged in their learning has a huge impact.

Have an amazing long weekend and we will look forward to seeing our tamaitiiti back on Tuesday.
