UPDATE FROM THE BOARD

Lisa Campbell —

A little update from our Board.  We will have a new purple sunshade that will be put up outside Room 8 where the round tables are. This is a focus for our school ensuring there are lots of places to sit in the shade. The school hall floor has been refurbished and it is looking really good, with all new markings and varnish.
Te Manawa is being reroofed and drains put in so the school can use this space on cold winter days. We will then put turf down on the floor so it is a nice space for our KURA kids. The Board has ensured there will be sufficient funds available for the school playgrounds to be audited for safety and whatever work needed to be done has occurred over the holidays. Our school administration area will be refurbished at some time over the coming term or school holidays and we will keep you updated on this.  We had a presentation from the staff on our end of term 2 data and we would like to acknowledge the really hard effective work our Kaiako are doing in their classes to make up the gap from last year.  At the end of Term 2:

Reading across the school 90.3% of our tamariki are where they are expected to be

Writing across the school 82.7% of our tamariki are where they are expected to be

Maths across the school 80.4% of our tamariki are where they are expected to be

Our Kaiako will continue to work hard in this area and the Board has ensured that the school will have more support staff to help with Target programs.
