REGIONAL ATHLETICS

Jacinta Kelleher —

What an amazing accomplishment to make it into the Regional Athletics Team, representing Porirua. Tītahi Bay School took a whopping 26 kids who competed hard in the Cluster Athletics to place either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their representative events to make the team.

The first phase ran smoothly with everyone making it over the Rimutaka’s without feeling too unwell. It was extremely hot conditions in Masterton which the students found a little challenging, but they soldiered on and participated to the best of their abilities. It was great to see the team supporting each other and having fun between their events. It was also great to see the older students taking the younger ones under their wings.

A massive thank you to the parents who came over to support on the day, it can be very overwhelming but with the extra help all students made it to their events and came back to home base happy.

Congratulations to Jack Jenkins, Jarrell Patafilo, Mikey Toi, Mereana-Rose Kira-Landy, Shamcey Ratula, Peyton Phillips, Cami Barrett, Rebecca Collins, Kaden Ruha, Ollie Madle, Campbell Landy, Riley Kelly-Bowers, Dylan Middlemiss, Libby Werkhoven, Mākere Perenara, Sophia Taurima, Tearna Marwood, Mahe Henry, Denzel Patafilo, Jack Liddle, Tom Fisher, Taokotai Hagai, Tia Bevan-Reedy, Tekarotai Hotai-Metuariki, Nikita Ranchord, Lila Moug.

What a successful year Tītahi Bay School has had in Athletics.
