Ann Gilroy —

There are seven Directors of Board:

Neil Darragh — Chair until November 2020
Judith McGinley OP — elected Chair November 2020
Agnes Hermans — Secretary
Philip Casey
Rita Cahill RSJ
Cathrine Harrison
Christopher Loughnan OP

All Directors attended the May and November meetings 2020 via zoom except Christopher Loughnan, whose apologies were accepted for both.

The global COVID-19 pandemic stopped the Board's usual practice of holding the Board meeting at different centres in New Zealand. They usually combined the Board meeting with an evening for subscribers where they shared their plans and received feedback. Instead the Board invited subscribers to a zoom meeting.

Board Highlights

The zoom meeting on 27 August was a highlight. Readers joined the meeting from around New Zealand — one subscriber from Australia. It was the first time that the Board and staff of Tui Motu magazine had met many of these subscribers as they had been unable to get to one of the centres for in-place meetings.

Kaaren Mathias, a long-term and popular Tui Motu magazine columnist, gave a presentation. Director Cathy Harrison facilitated small group sharing and feedback. Ann Hassan managed the technology. Participants expressed appreciation of the occasion.

Neil Darragh completed his term as Chair of the Board in November. During this term of office the Board has drafted a Governance Manual, written and updated polices, instituted the role of Board secretary and formed subcommittees for tasks. The Board thanked Neil for his leadership and was grateful that he will continue on the Board.
