Production and Distribution

Ann Gilroy —

The Tui Motu Team has kept to a regular schedule for the production and distribution of the magazine through the year. COVID-19 Lockdown meant that printing and distributing stopped after the March issue.

Subscriptions

Table 1 shows that we mailed out almost 1,900 copies of the magazine each month. This was made up of individual subscriptions, parish sales and complimentary magazines.

The table also shows that there has been a gradual decrease in paid subscriptions. New Zealand subscriptions down — 64, parish sales down — 37 and world subscriptions down 7. This is the loss of 108 subscriptions overall for the year.

The Australian subscriptions increased by 29 subscriptions.

Parishes Selling Tui Motu Magazine

We have strong support from a number of parishes who sell the magazine from the church. COVID-19 lockdown, which closed churches, will prevent the sale of the magazine unless we find another method for distributing them in the parish. Table 2 below gives the list of parishes in each Diocese that sell the magazine.

Schools Taking Multiple Copies

Pompallier Catholic College, Whangarei
Sacred Heart Girls' College, Hamilton
Marist College, Auckland

Complimentary Magazines

We send over 100 magazines — new and back copies — to the Catholic Chaplains in 17 prisons throughout New Zealand each month. We also send seven back copies to Mercy Hospital Dunedin for their staff and waiting rooms.

Audio Files

The Blind Foundation converts the magazine text file into audio files each month for approximately 10 subscribers.
