Season of Creation — Day 7

Dom Helder Camara —

In the full bus, packed to overflowing actually, everyone's attention was drawn to a small child holding a scrap of wood with extreme care. One woman couldn't bear it any longer and asked him why he was being so careful about this worthless scrap of wood. He explained: "I am taking a little ant for a ride. She's my great friend. It's her first trip in a bus."

Who would ever have thought the kid could have so much poetry and kindness in him!

A laugh and — a live link to the royal albatross colony in Pukekura/Taiaroa Head on the southeast tip of New Zealand's South Island. The chick, hatched in January 2020, is named Atawhai (kindness).
