I think of a 91-year-old friend speaking about her life in the rest home: “Now, mostly I wait. I wait to have a shower; I wait for breakfast to come. The staff are so good to me.” A year later this has not changed. Peace, patience and a good dose of gratitude and equanimity are cleansing the planet of entitlement, violence and greed.
