I walked back up Queen Street. It was alive with people. Everything has its own inner tapu, Eddo had said. Now I wasn't battling this sea of people. They were holy. Fellow travellers on life's highway — and instead of looking at their shoes I looked at their faces and even managed to elicit a smile or two.
