Lockdown Thought — Day 18

Blessings of life on Easter Sunday.

Easter gives wings to our Christian belief in the risen life — the life beyond this familiar one. We've reenacted in different and novel ways our great faith stories in our bubbles. Like the women seeking the tomb in dawn-darkness to tend Jesus’s dead body for the last time, our sadness germinates into practical kindness, respect, reconciliation and resistance to death-dealing. Like the women, we’re caught in the exquisite alchemy of Jesus’s incredibly liberating resurrection. So while we mourn the dead from coronavirus, here and around the world, we do so in this Easter spirit. We mourn their deaths, we’re awed by the courage of their last breath without family. We'll give them to Earth eventually and all the while we trust in the communion of Love and show it by staying at home. Happy Easter.
