Christ of the Lockdown by Ronald Raab

Lockdown Thought — Day 16

Good Friday

I believe that experiences of suffering and pain are transfiguring moments. To transfigure is to become more of who we are. It is not what we suffer, it’s how we behold and live it. During my experience I learnt the principle of letting go and dwelling peacefully in the darkness, where growth and healing take place — where God reaches us beyond all things.

Christ of the Passion
With Gratitude for life and health, bless us
With Opportunities for creativity, bless us
With Openness to contemplation, bless us
With Dear ones safe in their bubbles, bless us
From Fear of the unknown, save us
From denying Reality, save us
From Ingratiating ourselves with the unwise, save us
From Daring to disregard isolation, save us
From Anxiety dragging our spirits, save us
From Yearning for what we can't have, save us.
