Whānau Hui

Upper Harbour Primary School —

Sharing the Journey - A chance to contribute and give feedback if you missed it!

Thank you to the parents that contributed and shared feedback as part of our whānau hui following our Matariki Breakfast.

We had more than 50 parents stay on to hear about our progress towards our Strategic Goal 1 to develop a Coherent pathway of learning through a rich, localised Upper Harbour Curriculum.

We shared our Graduate Profile - 'The Upper Harbour Me' that highlights our vision, values, and 'what it takes' that we have developed with you, our community, over the last few years.

Local Curriculum Design

We then fed back some of the comments we have previously received from surveys when asking what learning you value.

You can see how these ideas support our teachers to plan the learning and experiences aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum below. This feedback and contributions help to ensure our students connect with learning in a way that is connected, rich, coherent and localised as outlined in our strategic goal.

Have ideas, suggestions or comments? We're still listening - you can contribute here.

Whānau Voice

We value whānau and want to make sure we are sharing the journey of learning with you as best we can.

Again, if you have ideas, suggestions or comments we'd love to hear them - you can contribute here.

Te Reo, Tikanga and Matauranga Māori

We strongly value Te Reo Māori and culture in our school. Finally, we shared our school's partnership with Te Kawerau ā Maki to support teaching of Māori language and culture in our school.

We are planning for Kaiārahi Mātauranga | Education Lead's from Te Kawerau ā Maki to meet with our community during Term 3 and will share the date once confirmed.

If you have ideas, suggestions or comments about this important work we'd love to hear them - you can contribute here.

Next steps

Thank you for taking the time to engage with this work. We aim to keep sharing back how your contributions have helped to shape our progress towards this strategic goal

Finally, we are aware that some feedback might not fit and just can't wait. If you would like to share anything else please do so by making contact with a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
