Book Parade

Help us kick off Book Week a day early with our Book Parade on Friday, 4th April! Get ready for a fun and exciting morning at our annual Book Parade. As part of our Book Week celebrations, students will dress up as their favourite book characters. The parade will take place in the morning to showcase all of the wonderful book-themed dress-ups.

Parents and whānau are welcome to join us and cheer on the participants. We can't wait to see the fabulous costumes and hear about the books that bring joy to our students! Make sure to mark the date in your calendar!

FOS Read-a-thon Fundraiser | Let's Get Reading!

FOS is proud to announce our 2025 Upper Harbour Primary School Read-a-thon fundraiser!

Our Read-a-thon will run over a 5-week period, starting on Friday, 21st March, and finishing on Sunday, 27th April (the last day of the school holidays). This is a wonderful initiative where students, together with their parents, can set their own reading challenge targets—whether that’s reading a book a week, a chapter a night, or something else that works for your child’s reading level. Not only will students improve their literacy skills, but all funds raised will go towards enhancing our outdoor learning and play spaces.

We’ve partnered with Raise It for this initiative, where you can set up your child’s online fundraising page to share with family and friends. The site will launch on Friday, 21st March. More information on how to register will be shared on Hero.

There will also be some great prizes up for grabs!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in our library during this time. It’s a fantastic opportunity to purchase new books for your collection while supporting our school. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore a wide range of exciting titles for all ages!
