Rangi's Corner

Kirstin Douglass —

Read about some of the great things Rangi has spotted around our school recently. This week Rangi celebrates our Year 5 and 6 cultural leadership team.

Rangi Ruru is the character who represents our learners. Rangi uses our school values and has definitely got ‘what it takes’ to be a great learner and a part of our community.

Our cultural leadership team is a made up of Year 5 and 6 students in our Tūi team and are led by Mrs Lee. Each week they meet to consider ways that they can celebrate the culture of our school. They inform the rest of our school about what days, or weeks might be about to be celebrated and also support with the organisation.

This week Rangi spotted Amber and Nicole, who presented about Daffodil Day at our Upper Harbour Me Assembly on Monday. They explained the purpose of Daffodil Day and encouraged our learners to show manaakitanga by getting actively involved this coming Friday. A big thanks to Mrs Lee, and the cultural leadership team for encouraging our school to make a difference for others. We look forward to the school supporting their initiative this Friday.

*Note that Room 10 and 12 are attending a school trip and are required to wear their school uniform - but are able to wear colourful accessories - eg- socks, or a daffodil if possible.
