FON201 Students Explore Vegan Eateries
Veganism is an ever-growing way of living and FON201 students have been exploring it. Teacher Carolyn Hamer explains what has been happening, as well providing links to some yummy recipes to try at home.
This term the class has been studying veganism and some of the strategies that a vegan can use to overcome any difficulties in adopting this healthy eating pattern.
As a part of this we have been cooked lots of yummy vegan food, including some unusual ones like a chocolate mousse that uses the water from a can of chick peas!
We also took a trip to Petone for a vegan meal at an Indian restaurant, visited Binn Inn to get some intel on the benefits of buying in bulk plus checked out their great range of vegan treats and snack foods.
Lastly we interviewed three vegans, two students and a teacher and checked out some great Netflix movies on veganism. It was a cool topic.
Give some recipes a go!
