Chloe spins to success at Figure Skating Competition
9NV's Chloe Tame has won the Kiwi Skate girls' competition in Auckland. Her Ako teacher, Alyssa Nava, interviews Chloe about her success and passion for figure skating.
1.) What do you like about Ice Skating? I like ice skating because I am good at it. I also like jumping and spinning. I started ice skating when I was about 10 years old.
2.) What is the most fun/most interesting part of ice skating? That is skating with my best friend Briannah. We love butt spins.
3.) What was the competition like? It was good overall because I got a high score. I was nervous. I practiced after-school every day for a month (around 40 hours).
4.) If you have any advice for first time skaters, what would it be? Hold your knees if you think you're about to fall ... fall over sideways ... don't look down... don't attempt higher levels of skating immediately (to avoid injury).
