Emma Gains Scholarship

UHC Admin —

Year 12 student Emma Bryan has received the Women Helping Others Upper Hutt Scholarship.

The Scholarship, worth $500, will be put to use to pay for equipment and clothing she needs for her Adventure course.

Emma's grandfather was also present when Emma was presented the scholarship.

Emma was nominated for the Scholarship due to her outstanding attitude to her studies and unfailing positivity.  She is a superb student who epitomises the school values.

One of the presenters of the award to Emma was Audrey Harper (2nd from right) who was the first Senior Mistress (Deputy Principal) at Upper Hutt College when it first opened in 1962. One of our Senior Prizegiving Cups is also named after Miss Harper.

Others helping present the award (left to right in the photo) are: Phyllis Fitzgerald, Anne Lovell-Smith, Audrey Harper, Jackie West, and the presentation was given by Rhonda Rudman.
