Ugly Shakespeare Company Enlightens Onlookers

UHC Admin —

The Ugly Shakespeare Company came to UHC and performed a modernised and shortened version of Romeo and Juliet to the accelerate classes, drama classes, and other selected students. Teacher Kath Cowley reflects on the experience.

To say the least, we were delighted to be so lucky to have the privilege of watching such an entertaining and humorous performance.

With the modern inputs and funny remarks, there was never a dull moment nor a moment without laughter.

One of the highlights would be how much they interacted with the audience, it really kept everyone engaged throughout the whole play, and added to the humor. For example, they shot us with water guns to release tension, which was quite effective.

In summary the Ugly Shakespeare performance was an enriching experience, one we feel very lucky to have had the pleasure of watching.

Thank you so much for the chance to see your amazing performance, and we really hope you will come back to Upper Hutt college in the future!
