Library is open for business!

UHC Admin —

The Upper Hutt College Library would like to welcome everyone back for 2023.

We would particularly like to welcome all of the new students, including Year 9's, students who have moved to Upper Hutt College, and for the first time in a long time, our International students.

Devices and Bags in the Library

Some of our rules around bags in the Library have changed this year due to all Year 9 students having to bring their own devices. From now on, if you have a device, you can bring your bag with you into the Library. If you don’t have a device in your bag, you should still put your bag in the bag room or on the shelves by the door. All Year 13 students must leave their bags downstairs on the shelves.

Wherever you leave your bag, you are still not allowed to eat, chew gum or drink in the Library at all. This is to protect the book collection from being damaged.

eBooks and Audiobooks

We also have a digital library that can be accessed by downloading the Wheeler’s App onto any device through your usual app store. It gives you access to over 2000 ebooks and audiobooks.

Simply download the app, find Upper Hutt College Library and login using your school email username: firstname.lastname and the password: libraryuhc

If you have any problems logging in, come and see Ms Mulholland in the Library during the second half of lunch on Mondays or during interval on Thursday. You can also email her on mulhollandm@upperhutt.school.nz

You can also access the Library catalogue at home by following this link: Library Catalogue

Don’t forget we are open from 7:30am until 3:45pm if you need somewhere warm and dry to be before or after school. There are games and activities available too, like chess, cards and of course, books!

We are really looking forward to what this year will bring and hope to offer many activities and competitions for everyone to enjoy. For more information, and Library updates, read the school notices and follow us on Instagram @uhc_library

OR come into the Library and see Mrs Bloomfield, Mrs Scrivener or Mrs Mulholland if you have any questions or need recommendations on what to read next!
