UHC Year 11 students hosted representative from Youthtown, who have been promoting their idea of a new youth space in Upper Hutt. Student Grace Tilley tells us what they discussed.

The Youthdown representatives began by explaining their vague ideas for the space to a group of Year 11 students, and then asked us to brainstorm ideas, ranging from the decoration of the building, to the programmes that could be run there. 

We looked at pictures of different styles of decoration for the space, and offered our ideas on what the space could be called. 

We really enjoyed expressing our ideas, and thinking creatively and innovatively to help Youthtown.

The people from Youthtown will now go and speak to a variety of other people in the community, and begin developing their youth space. 

It was a great opportunity for us to be able to help the community, and have our say on improving spaces for youth.
