After weeks and weeks of gloomy weather, the bright sun, clear blue skies and the summer breeze finally here, the long-awaited Colour Run was held. Student Ian Palmones took part in the action and reports on the experience.
Great weather greeted students, and they spent their lunchtime running the track while covered in bright coloured powder and a chance to end the school year on a high after much uncertainty.
With only two weeks until seniors leave, The Colour Run was one of the last school-wide events of this year, and for Year 13s possibly the last school-wide event in their college careers.
The event kicked off with a water fight at the starting line. When the hammer was hit, students raced off across the track to be covered in bright coloured powder.
Students also had the chance to cool off under the heat with refreshments, while also getting their nails done with bold colours at the finishing line.
It was nice to see so many bright smiles, with bright colours to match. Overall, the Colour Run was a fun and happy way to speed one of our last lunchtimes of the year, together.
It was nice to see many students participating in this event, we would like to thank them for their generous donations and their support for the LGBTQ+ community at our school, all proceeds of this event will be going to the Rainbow Youth Group. We would also like to thank the students and staff who helped organize and run the event, without you, this event would not have been possible, nor successful as it had been.
We look forward to seeing you all back next year.
