Action Packed Trip To Blue Mountain Adventure Camp

UHC Admin —

During the holidays Guidance staff member AJ Picard took an enthusiastic bunch of students to the Blue Mountain Adventure Camp. AJ tells us what happened.

A small but committed group of year 9 and 10 boys travelled to Blue Mountain Adventure Camp in Raurimu, Central North Island, run by the Salvation Army for three days of outdoor activities. This was part of the year-long Aspire programme facilitated by staff from Central Youth Services.
First up was a high ropes course in the rain which pushed everyone out of their comfort zone. Indoor rock climbing, white water rafting and caving, as well as an impromptu trip to see snow, finished off an action packed three days with everyone giving every activity a go encouraged by the rest of the group.

New friendships were made and some tired boys made the most of the long drive home to catch up on some sleep.
