Welcome to our new Homestay Coordinator Amanda Sharkey

Amanda Sharkey —

My name is Amanda Sharkey and I am excited to join the Upper Hutt College International team as Homestay Coordinator.

My name is Amanda Sharkey and I am excited to join the Upper Hutt College International team as Homestay Coordinator. Originally from Gisborne on the east coast of New Zealand, I have lived in Upper Hutt (my husband's home city) for 12 years now, I love the myriad of fabulous opportunities that abound on our doorstep. Professionally, I have a hospitality and business background, and have extensive voluntary experience in youth sports through supporting the various clubs and teams my 3 children are involved in. Their sporting endeavours keep us very busy and active outside of work, enjoying the close proximity to so many facilities across the region and throughout the country. We love to explore our local natural recreational areas when we get the time, and spend quality time with family and friends. I am proud of our Kiwi culture and look forward to sharing our way of life with all of the students, and learning about their cultures in return. I feel privileged that I will be able to help so many students make lifelong memories during their stays with us here at Upper Hutt College and look forward to meeting and getting to know all of our current and future students.
