Poly Group opens Showquest

UHC Admin —

UHC's growing Poly Group was given the honour of leading the performances at the recent Showquest. Student leaders Rudolph Taafua and Cora Noble run us through what happened.

For this year's Showquest we were honoured to be asked to open again however due to Covid difficulties, there was no audience.

Even so, we hyped each other up and the experience of dancing on the stage at the Michael Fowler Centre was still thrilling.

For this year's performance, we tackled the theme of poverty and homelessness and wanted to tell a story sensitively through dance and empowering emotion.

Despite not having an audience full of different schools, we managed to still have a blast and enjoy the time we had at the theatre.

It’s definitely sad for us Year 13's being part of something like this for the last time in school and not having the full experience but we’re still very grateful to be a part of Showquest and I hope the other year groups are excited to bring on the years to come.

Seeing so much diversity in the Poly Group made us proud, and everyone gave it their all and fully captured the Polynesian vibe. It was great how everyone from Years 9-13 was incredibly supportive of each other and worked together through this fantastic journey.
